Lucy Gray

After spending nearly 20 years in classrooms, Lucy is currently an independent education consultant, working with a variety of institutions on 21st century learning initiatives. Her career began as an elementary teacher in the Chicago Public School system and more recently, she has served in various capacities related to educational technology at the University of Chicago's Laboratory Schools, Urban Education Institute and Center for Elementary Mathematics and Science Education. 

In 2007, Lucy founded the Global Education Collaborative, a 11,000 member network for educators interested in collaboration and project-based learning. Lucy has also expanded on this work by co-founding the highly acclaimed online Global Education Conference which debuted in 2010 and highlights some of the most innovative educators and thinkers in the global education space. In addition to international education, Lucy's many professional interests include mobile learning, digital equity, information literacy, social media and the design of learning environments. 

Besides traveling the world to conduct workshops and deliver keynote addresses, Lucy's other current projects include serving on the planning committee for the Illinois Computing Educators Conference, customizing professional development at a high performing secondary school in Michigan as it transitions to 1:1 iPad environment, researching mobile learning as the Project Director for the Consortium for School Networking's Leadership for Mobile Learning initiative, and advising senior Chicago Public School leadership on educational technology best practices.
