Lamar University begins the 2012-2013 school year with a Blast Off professional development event. Educators from across the university participate in varied learning opportunities which focus on teaching and learning.
As part of the Blast Off activities, the Educational Leadership and Technology faculty will lead professional development sessions on transforming teaching and learning featuring the U.S. Dept. of Education’s Connected Educators initiative.
This initiative will extend online communities and learning networks to provide access to knowledge and opportunities for collaboration. Lamar University faculty will support the initiative by connecting with colleagues to learn and share promising practices for digital literacy, teaching, and learning. Educational Technology Leadership faculty will guide scholarly discussions to facilitate Faculty Learning Community development with an Action Research focus.
